RPGaDay 2022

RPGaDay2022

1 - Who would you like to introduce to RPGs?
Kids should get to see the kid-friendly options out there.

2 – What is a great introductory RPG?
Star Wars D6 (or Ghostbusters, which was the first run at a lot of it) or something similarly easy to grasp the rules, setting and style.

3 - When were you first introduced to RPGs?
198*coughcough* and gamebooks.

4 - Where would you host a first game?
A game café would be nice.

5 - Why will they like this game?
Picking it based on their interests and being able to run it.

6 - How would you get more people playing RPGs?
Be open about it. More people already are because it isn't such a secretive thing.

7 - System Sunday: Describe a cool part of a system that you love.
Humanity in Vampire: The Requiem 2 is threatened by violent action but also by avoiding human contact for sustained periods and by reminders that you're not human like surviving an attack that would kill a person.

8 - Who introduced you to RPGs?
A family member.

9 - What is the 2nd RPG you bought?
Warhammer first edition, chunky hardback of grim perilousness.

10 - When did/will you start Gamemastering?
Sometimes in high school with friends, with Star Wars and Cthulhu, but properly in the last year with Vampire, and then on in college.

11 - If you could live in a game setting, where would it be?
Trinity. Like our world but the good guys are winning.

12 - Why did you start RPGing?
NERD.

13 - How would you change the way you started RPGing?
I might have been more open about playing sooner. I had a very small circle before college.

14 - Suggestion Sunday: Roll 1d8+1, and tag that many friends and suggest a new RPG to try.
If you're reading this, try... Inspectres maybe.

15 - Who would you like to Gamemaster for you?
Someone while V5 is still the current edition would be nice...

16 - What would be your perfect game?
*quiet sniffling*
World of Darkness - 2010 Animatic Trailer

17 - Past, Present, or Future? When is your favourite game set?
Vampire moves to tonight’s playlist.

18 - Where is your favourite place to play?
A game café would, again, be nice.

19 - Why has your favourite game stayed with you?
BATS!

20 - How long do your games last?
Maybe a season usually.

21 - Setting Sunday: Share an intriguing detail from a game setting you enjoy.
In Vampire: The Requiem, Count Dracula is a vampire hereditary title. At least according to Count F Dracula.

22 - Who is your current character?
I don't have one at the moment. :/ So, time to talk about Didi Duvall again, Mage: The Ascension Hollow One with character defining concept: THE WORST

23 - What situation are they currently in?
Having helped kinda-sorta save the day, Didi's probably sleeping off quite a lot of vodka.

24 - When did you start playing this character?
My notes say October 7th, 2018! There was a gap of about two years between series though.

25 - Where has the character been?
Mostly San Francisco. Sometimes back in time. Recently the Underworld.

26 - Why does your character do what they do?
She has friends, and much as she might resent it the whole great power and responsibility thing really does apply.

27 - How has the character changed?
She became a good friend as well as a comedy sidekick. (Taking a break from being a heroic type can be a lot of fun, but I'm still, y'know, nice.)

Kay Marlowe
28 - Style Sunday: your favourite RPG cover art.
Vampire: The Masquerade going for the marble and rose.

29 - Who would you like to see take part in #RPGaDAY?
It would be nice to see a video of Famous Gamers going through the list.

30 - What should #RPGaDAY do for its 10th anniversary next year?
A big online meetup maybe?

31 - When did you first take part in #RPGaDAY?
2019. I should really try to get back on Twitter and Blogger and all, which involves getting my old phone to work.

Anecdote Alternative: Roll 1d8+1, tag that many friends and tell a gaming story about them.
New Bremen folks, it was where we organised an exhibition, played the emergency services, and took a night off to play Skeeball.
And elsewhere, more.
