4A.01: Into The Portal

26/07

Our heroes (and Didi) have been enjoying relative peace and quiet - cut to Cara kicking a ghoul in the face and Simon casting out a demon - when Martin, the master of Time magic who pressed them into rewriting history to save his wife a while back, approaches them seeming tense.

Someone is planning to launch an attack on the city's Tradition Library, the base of the mages on the west coast.

When it was built.

Over a century ago.

It's been well enough concealed that he just detected it.

We go to try and stop the time warping ritual before it activates.

But it's too late.

Whiteout, hard to look at.

So Martin throws us back in time to stop it.

At least this time he tells us that's all he can do and gives us a moment to nod before he widens the portal and in we go.

Promising a soft landing.

--

Didi wakes to find herself in a nice bed. In a nice room.

With a couple of women in old-fashioned maid uniforms coming to help her get ready for the day.

II's 1883.

Surprise! Mage: The Ascension - Victorian Age

Didi tries not to look too stoked about getting a wardrobe full of Victorian dresses in mourning colours.

My background-selecting hand hurts

And the Halloween formal last season. Should have thought "hey, don't have a background that matches somebody's hair"...

And for the Goth gig 4.19

Bloodhunt

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt was a great looking fun game that I played on and off and never came close to winning a match. Sad that it shut down, but a free game that ran for four years is pretty impressive.

Mage: The Ascension - Sunset City 4

OH YES

Mage: The Ascension - Sunset City 4

Sunset City 1 (not yet called that)

Sunset City 2

Sunset City 3

The further adventures of a circle of mages in San Francisco

Cara Lawson, Akashayana

She is beauty, she is grace, she will stab you in the face

Simon Donovan, Hermetic

The token like a wizard type

Alissa Kwan, Ecstatic

She can dance if she wants to, she can leave your friends behind

Michael Lang, Verbena

Into weird old magic with sticks and stuff

And last but definitely least:

Didi Duvall, Hollow One

Hell-o boys

4.01: Nightmares

2/1

It's been a quiet summer -

Simon banishing a spirit, Cara fighting a pack of ghouls, Michael investigating a spooky old mine, Alissa leading a tai chi class, Didi cheering at a gig

- but now people around the city are having strange dreams...

Character plans

Found my next player character.

No idea which game for but I can make it work.

A.R.: I'm feeling changling or mage

J: Gangrel. They all count as one Famulus

Bloodlines 2

There are some NPCs I'd like to initiate combat on during some of our conversations, but I guess the story needs them alive or undead for later.

And done as of a couple days ago!

Looked great, sounded great, happy with it as a story.

Very much appreciated adjustable difficulty.

Good to have more enemies later, though could still do with more.

I see proper saves are in upcoming patch notes.

Alas, no Spooky House level.

Felt Bloodlines-y to me, so happy there.

Bloodlines 2

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

It's real. It's happening.

I've been playing Bloodlines 2 for a couple hours now and I like the flip from starting as a nobody. I got to punch a guy across a room, wrench a padlock off a door instead of the bit where you have to pick locks, make other vampires nervous just by existing (while also being kind if I want) and the writing and options let me feel like I'm going along with quests and plots for my own reasons instead of having to. Now if I can dance without looking like Kermit the Frog...

Didi's Anniversary

October 2018

And on that night a monster was born

#RPGaDAY2025

A prompt a day through August to talk about RPGs

1) PATRON

Who gives the PCs directions or orders to their next adventure? This can very much affect how they feel about it.

ICONS: Unity

ICONS

Unity

The big superhero team of their setting, sorta-grounded like the MCU

Guardian

Laura Kincaid

Superhumanly strong and tough granddaughter of a legendary supersoldier, team leader and brick

Lancelot, power armour

Mist, phasing and invisibility

Clarity, sonic stun singer

Black Angel, all-weapon martial artist

Playing?

Possible game of the summer as player, superheroes. Hmm.

Important decision: I'm the Cap, getting in the way of damage.

Sunset City 3.23

Our beloved Hollow One shitposter Didi and her long-suffering circle complete another Mage: The Ascension series.

Will there be more? I'd be up for it.

Who are you, game wise?

Describe your GMing style and your playing style each in one sentence.

GM: Keep the game fun for the players if not necessarily for the PCs

Player:

Happy Friday! The 13th.

Month Of Darkness 2024 addendum

Month Of Darkness current character speedrun

Didi Duvall, Mage: The Ascension Hollow One, concept "The Worst"

1: Original Character (OC)

Didi Duvall, Hollow One, concept "The Worst"

Ksenia Solo as Kenzi in Lost Girl
You can trust her with your life.
But not your boyfriend or wallet.

Month Of Darkness 2024

Very OC-ish this year.

1. Original Character (OC)

Tanith was a nice girl, really. Not best suited to damnation.

EVE MMO character design
Meant for the WOD MMO

Mage: The Ascension - Sunset City 3

Mage: The Ascension is back AND YES I AM A HOLLOW ONE.

Didi Duvall, The Worst, rides again.

Ksenia Solo as Kenzi in Lost Girl

Fortunately so do Cara, Simon, Alissa and Michael, our actual heroes.

Cara Lawson, Akashayana. Brave, kind, highly dangerous.

Holland Roden as Lydia in Teen Wolf

Simon Donovan, Hermetic. Somebody had to play a smart character.

Rupert Evans as Frank in The Man In The High Castle

Alissa Kwan, Ecstatic. Magic through energetic dance. More sensible than that makes her sound.

Paris Berelc as Alexa in Alexa & Katie

Michael Lang, Verbena. Interested in ancient rituals and weird occult stuff but not that creepy because it's not really that kind of chronicle.

Luke Grimes in Noir State Beach

Mage The Ascension - Sunset City

Season 1, as retroactively titled

1st September 2021

Didi Duvall Rides Out

WE HAVE REACHED THE -BERS! LIGHT THE NEED-FIRES!

Also this September, Didi Duvall rides again!

I apologize in advance.

--

J: We played mage for a minute online, I made a total bitch goth chick named Azazel Ravenous, Hollow One, who owned a club called Poison Apple. I loved that character so much, and not just because people didn't know how to react to another pc who was just mean as shit to everyone.

--

A Promise Or A Threat

If our Mage game returns and we do a beach episode, Didi Duvall, in her duty as THE WORST, will totally get a Tarot Hawaiian shirt.

--

2.00: Character Generation!

25/9

Didi Duvall will return!

... once the new players are done generating characters.
