Month Of Darkness 2026

#MonthOfDarkness 2026 prompts

1. The World You Left Behind
Daylight. Warmth. Looking at someone and not imagining how their blood would taste.

2. A Feast For The Damned
Do you try for a specific flavour, or try not to think about it? And how do you deal with those who go the other way?

3. The Monster You Love
I feel a World Of Darkness game should have a chance for this, and it doesn't always have to be a disaster. Not always.

4. A Song Of Rage
It starts quietly and builds and builds until it's all you can hear.

5. Reality Is Negotiable
Oh hey, Mage prompt! But outside of that, if you have enough power or money...

6. A Dream Worth Dying For
A Changeling question! But... For some vampires, ironically, to live.

7. What Keeps You Here?
A Wraith question? But for vampires as well. Just a few friends keep some out of the sunrise.

8. No One Will Believe You
Beware the Hollow One Mage who has a witch's hat in her wardrobe.

9. The First Betrayal
She understood her sire, was grateful for how carefully it was done, but never quite forgave him.

10. Awakened
With great power comes great responsibility, or at least that's how I usually play it. Sometimes that makes me a superheroes with fangs kind of player, but in the sense of drama rather than fight scenes.

11. One More Thing Before I Die
Do WoD games need a dramatic dying speech rule like Feng Shui? Hmm.

12. What Makes A Monster?
Becoming a supernatural being night be chosen or inflicted, but if you can resist that new nature, do you?

13. Something Is Following Me
This is a bigger nope for me than a lot of (masc) players.

14. When The Monster Feels Human
So fleeting, and so precious. Or so painful when facing one.

15. The Secret Gathering
Of course our secret gatherings are dangerously grand and ostentatious, drama generally beats restraint in play.

16. A Diner After Midnight
Something we never actually here after games, as there really aren't many late night food places here.

17. The One You Couldn't Save
On top of all the new characters and sudden deaths that a big game like a chat or LARP will have, a few losses that were part of intended stories still sting.

18. Hunger Never Sleeps
But vampires can dream.

19. Rage Beneath The Skin
If I could become an anger-powered giant killing machine, how long before I killed someone? Depends how far away the first obvious choice is.

20. The Price Of Paradox
Sometimes Mages have to go on cooldown for a while after a spell. Sometimes it's not even their fault! Just... usually.

21. A Message From The Dead
I've played characters who can contact the dead a few times, and it's always nice to pass on a message of comfort, and always fun to pass on a warning to run.

22. Humanity Strikes Back
Emotionally when you least expect it.

23, The Devil You Know
Who or what would you meet at the crossroad if you were looking to make a deal? (This is a setting where Lucifer is one of the good guys, so maybe not that.)

24. Don't Look Behind You
You might see what you've done.

25. The Last Piece Of Humanity
How do your characters hold on, remember who they once were or could still be? Do your supernatural NPCs have connections to humanity? Links to their pasts, living associates and the like? Not all would but I think some should.

26. Rules Of The Night
Some are simple common sense, some are a sure sign of who gets to make the rules. Which can you bend, which can you break? And which do you make for yourself?

27. Underneath The City
One of my favourite creepy things fitting the World Of Darkness is horror happening behind closed doors in cities. A monster hiding in a cheap apartment. A cult meeting in a closed cinema. Graffiti marking the borders of vampire domains.

28. Enemies To Lovers
I've usually seen it go the other way. In games and in life.

29. An Empty Haven
The death or disappearance of a vampire can shake up a setting as well as providing a mystery to investigate.

30. The Hunt Begins
If I have hunters in my game, they're almost certainly the good guys. How do the PCs deal with that?

31. Together Until The End
My monsters have had a few real loves and friends.
